This course is aimed at amateurs/hobbyists, and requires no previous woodworking experience.

Classes run on 6-week rolling blocks, with approximately 2-3 week gaps between each block. Commitment only required for one block at a time but priority for rebooking is given to current participants.

About the course

Ever fancied making your own violin or fiddle? Join me for a relaxed, hands-on evening class where you’ll learn to make your very own violin in a friendly workshop setting.

You are not limited to making a ‘traditional’ violin during this class. You may also opt to make:

  • Viola

  • 5-string violin

  • Cornerless/viol style violin

  • Decorated violin

  • Pochette/kit fiddle 

Whether you’re a woodworking beginner or have a half-made instrument already that you’d like to finish, this course will guide you through the process step by step.

Classes are small (maximum 5 people). You’ll work at your own pace, with guidance tailored to your experience and interests.
