Violin / Fiddle Making Classes
This course is aimed at amateurs/hobbyists, and requires no previous woodworking experience.
Thursday 18:30-21:00
£350 per ten week term, maximum of 6 participants
Start date: 16th October 2025
Once the spaces have been filled, a waiting list will be created and a second evening class will run on Tuesday evenings once there is enough demand.
About the course
Ever fancied making your own violin or fiddle? Join me for a relaxed, hands-on evening class where you’ll learn to make your very own violin in a friendly workshop setting.
You are not limited to making a ‘traditional’ violin during this class. You may also opt to make:
Viola
5-string violin
Cornerless/viol style violin
Decorated violin
Pochette/kit fiddle
Absolutely no woodworking experience is needed, complete beginners are very welcome. Whether you’ve played the violin for years or just love the idea of crafting something beautiful by hand, this course will guide you through the process step by step.
Classes are small (maximum 6 people). You’ll work at your own pace, with guidance tailored to your experience and interests.

To secure your place on the course, simply fill out the form below and you’ll be emailed a payment link for a 25% deposit with the remainder of the course fees due by 2nd October.
